Reigning champions Manchester United could only manage a draw against Newcastle. Newcastle struck first with Martins, however only two minutes later Darren Fletcher pulled one back for Manchester United. It wasn’t an ideal start for the Red Devils, however, Manchester United were missing some key players in Tevez and Ronaldo.
Overall, a disappointing start to our title defence, however, this happened last season and Manchester United went on to lift the title.
